Family Pictures

Before we left Grenada our friend Sara took some family pictures. I think they turned out great! Thanks Sara!

No More Pencils, No More Books...

On Friday Cameron took the USMLE Step 1. He feels pretty good about it. The most important thing is that he no longer has to study this summer! Every time we do something Esther announces that Daddy can come too because he's all done studying.
This weekend was the Grange Family Reunion. I picked Cameron up from his test and we drove to Southern Utah to camp with lots of family. We had a great time. The kids loved playing in the dirt, roasting marshmallows, and sleeping in a tent. We also discovered Esther's talent for potato sack racing. I lost our camera after we set up camp, and didn't find it again until the reunion was just about over, so we don't have a lot of pictures. But what we did have was a lot of was fun.

William wanted to put up the tent by himself.

Cameron and Esther pumped up the air mattress (the first time I've camped with one of those).

Five Down, Eight To Go

Here is the fifth installment of our saga; "Can a Three-Year-Old Learn the Articles of Faith?" So far the answer is YES. Our Family Home Evening lessons have been a little delayed with all our recent travelling, but I think we're just about back on track. We're very proud of Esther for learning them all so well. Click to see her singing the first, second, third, and fourth Articles of Faith. Sorry it's sideways. I forgot that blogger won't let me turn it.

I'm So Glad When Daddy Comes Home

After 17 days away, Cameron came back to Utah to finish up his USMLE prep. When the kids saw him at the airport they both ran as fast as they could, and neither one would let him put them down for quite a while.

He took the night off studying so we went with Cameron's family to a car show up the street. Esther's favorite was the monster truck. William just liked walking around all those cars (one of his favorite new words). We are all very glad to have Daddy back with us again!

Fun in the Sun?

Though the sky did clear up after the morning's rain, I was a little bit concerned about the weather at Cameron's Mom's company party on Saturday. The party was held at Raging Waters and the high temperature for the day was 64 degrees. After playing in the two heated pools and freezing whenever we ventured out of the water, the kids and I decided to get dressed and enjoy all the other attractions this party had to offer. Blue frosting, naps, and butterfly-balloon hats were some of the favorites. We had a great time with Cameron's family, and afterward the kids wanted to go visit Grammy and Grandpa for the rest of the night. The best part was that, due to the cold weather, we got free tickets for another Raging Waters expedition. That means we can go again when Cameron is done with his test!

Road Trip

Last week my parents, my kids, and I got the urge to take a road trip across the country to see my brother and his family. Cameron is staying in California in order to study for the USMLE Step 1. William decided he'd be the driver.

We drove 20 hours each way, so we stopped at a lot of rest stops. The kids did really well. If it wasn't for my parents' portable DVD player, we might not have had quite as nice a trip.

We arrived on Friday, May 30. While playing Saturday, Esther realized she shared fashion taste with her two-and-a-half year old cousin.

William discovered he shared the same height with his two-and-a-half year old cousin.

Nana and Papa enjoyed meeting their new grandson and getting re-acquainted with their granddaughter.

We got to see The Mississippi (or as Esther insists: The "Mrs. Sippy") River.
It was great having so much time with our family!
And on the way home Esther and William loved their very first Burger King Crowns, courtesy of Papa.

Back to America

Here is a slide show of our last few days in Grenada and our first few in America. We took a trip to downtown St. George's our last Saturday in Grenada. We left for the airport on Tuesday May 20 after playgroup. We stayed the night in Jamaica, New York (so I guess we spent the night in Jamaica after all), and visited our friends the Richards before our flight the next evening. After a few days with family Cameron flew to California to study for the USMLE Step 1 while I get our kids reacquainted with their relatives.
