First you drill a hole in the wood.

Then you hang a bucket to collect the sap.

Go ahead and taste the sap (it tastes just like water).

Carry all the sap on your tractor.

Then boil it down in the evaporator.

This may take a while so go ahead and play.

Nothing makes an ordinary Wednesday night dinner more special than waffles and real maple syrup.
Special thanks to the Lloyd A. Stage Nature Center!

That is so awesome that you guys got to do that! We love maple syrup and have read how they do it but to know you got to participate is the greatest.
How fun! I remember reading a book in elementary school about that. I wish I could remember the name....How are you feeling? Are we getting close?
I bet that was fun!
Yum! I love real maple syrup! How fun you got to make it then eat it. I was so excited to see you posted. I thought maybe you had your baby! Are you getting close?
Okay - so after reading it over, I realize my post was a little misleading. We didn't actually make the same stuff we ate. We just got to take a little hands on tour of the farm, then buy a premade bottle of syrup. It was still a lot of fun though.
And to Ashlee and Sara - I'm due next Friday (a week from tomorrow) so we'll see what happens. :) Esther says the first day of spring would make a great birthday.
Good luck with the Baby Bettina! not fair that you don't have any pictures posted! Ben's birthday is Friday so I say that would make a great day as well!
Yummo to the syrup! Congratulations on your new arrival. I look forward to pictures! :o)

How fun!! I always wish I could do that, it looks like fun. Does maple syrup taste better right from the tree??
Oops, I just read your last comment. It still sounds like a blast! :0) And, BTW, good luck with everything!!!
