Beach Fun

On Saturday morning we found ourselves at a mid-term party. We went to the beach by the Aquarium Restaurant and had a great time.

This is our favorite buried treasure.

After Esther had a turn, all the kids wanted to bury someone else. Cameron graciously volunteered.

This is what happens when Esther tells Cameron she wants to go exploring. (Cameron says it's harder to get up there than it looks - especially with bare feet and carrying an Esther)

William thoroughly enjoyed himself eating, I mean digging in, the sand.

Aspiring Photographer

Esther loves the camera. She loves to have her picture taken and always wants to see the picture as soon as I push the button. Last week she was determined to take a few pictures all by herself.

These were her first attempts. Not bad for a three-year-old, but since she was so excited to use the camera, and was sure she knew how, she didn't really want any advice on picture taking technique.

The next time I got out the camera she was eager to try again. This time she was a little bit more calm and wanted to get some tips on shooting a picture. After just one short lesson she took this picture. I think she did a great job.

Three Down, Ten to Go

Since we're in the third month, we've been studying the third Article of Faith for Family Home Evening. Esther is really getting into this. She often requests that I sing the last one to her, so she'll probably know #13 long before December comes.

My Handsome Boy

A week ago I gave William his first haircut. It was sad to see those beautiful baby curls go, but fun to see the little man emerge from under all that hair.
This is right before his first haircut.
...........................
He sat pretty still and didn't cry; I was so proud. It helped that we put him right in front of a Baby Signing Time (his favorite DVD).

Eaves Dropping Pays Off

I was at a barbeque last week when several people started talking about a guy named Brian Reagan. Their conversation sounded interesting, so I listened for a while. After coming home I found myself watching this guy for about an hour that night on youtube, and many more minutes since. Boy am I glad I eavesdropped!

Ode to Joy School

Yesterday was Esther's last day of formal Joy School. Since last September she and her friend Dyson have been enjoying Joy School two days a week. Dyson is leaving for America today, so now it's down to just Esther and me. We'll still have fun doing the lessons twice a week, but Dyson will definately be missed.

Having a tea party during free play time.

Flying homemade kites.

Toe painting with colored shaving cream.

Free play time with playdough

Mary and Joseph in our Nativity play.

Saturday Fun

Every year a charity organization called Grensave hosts an International Food and Drink Bar. People from many different countries sell food, crafts, and anything else they like (the Chinese were selling plants). They have music and fun for the kids. Esther, William and I decided to go have some excitement there for the afternoon.

This is the first time Esther enjoyed a bouncy castle. Up until now she's wanted to go in, but gets scared before she gets in all the way. She loved it so much she went twice!

After some ice cream, William enjoyed playing with an empty water bottle while Esther waited to get her face painted.

"Now I look beautiful!"
